Whether it be lighting, blinds, heating/ventilation or building management. Whether in a new construction or as part of renovation work –running a school building requires careful planning and investment, but that’s not all – energy efficiency is enormously important as well. This is where Integrated Systems come in: so that in future, you can regulate systems automatically, and cut long-term costs.

Some examples:

The typical school day sees many requirements having to be met with regard to lighting, blinds, heating, air-conditioning and ventilation, particularly in corridors and classrooms.
With presence detectors, you can save up to 30% on your heating and electricity costs. The lighting only switches on when the presence detectors installed in the corridors, classrooms, gym and changing rooms sense that someone is there, and when they leave again the lighting will switch back off.

If the lighting can be dimmed, it will automatically adjust itself to the external brightness. In this way, even long corridors can be monitored without interruption, and their lighting can be intelligently controlled. You can manually switch the lighting on and off at any time using a push-button.

Presence detectors can also increase safety and security first thing in the morning and last thing at night: If they detect movement, an alarm signal will be sent to a designated person, for example the caretaker. The centralised control of the lighting system allows the school to monitor and control sections of the building to minimise use of the lighting when not occupied. Also included are presence detectors which manage the usage of energy to occupied areas only. Touchscreen controls allow scheduling of timed events of automatic system operation.

Lighting control and energy management

The school required control and monitoring of energy use. The system offers each classroom light level monitoring and presence detection control with manual override to assist with energy control. The Hall and corridors are linked to light and presence detectors to operate only as necessary and are all controlled by a Touchscreen programmer, which also issues pre programmed event commands.
